WASHINGTON, D.C. February 24, 2022 –The American College of Physicians (바카라 사리트) has named Shari M. Erickson, MPH as their new Chief Advocacy Officer and Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Public Policy beginning on March 14, 2022.

바카라 사리트 is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States. 바카라 사리트 members include 161,000 internal medicine physicians (internists), related subspecialists, and medical students. Internal medicine physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness.
Erickson has worked for 바카라 사리트 since 2007, starting in 바카라 사리트’s Center for Practice Improvement and Innovation. She was promoted to Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Medical Practice in 2012, taking charge of 바카라 사리트’s advocacy and policy initiatives related to federal regulatory agencies. Most recently she has been serving as 바카라 사리트’s Interim Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Public Policy. Erickson takes over her new role as head of 바카라 사리트’s Washington office from Bob Doherty, who is now 바카라 사리트’s Special Advisor to the Chief Advocacy Officer and Senior Vice President Emeritus and will be retiring on July 31, 2022.
Before coming to 바카라 사리트, Erickson was a Senior Program Director with the National Quality Forum (NQF) in Washington, D.C. where she was responsible for managing an array of projects that support NQF’s national strategy for healthcare quality measurement and reporting. Erickson earned a Master of Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2009.
