Hello Colleagues,
I hope everyone is enjoying the warming weather and in the mood for spring. The next few weeks will be busy for the Arkansas 바카라 사리트. On March 29th and 30th, we will have our annual George Link Ackerman Reading Retreat at the Red Apple Inn in Heber Springs. This unique meeting will feature Dr. Jennifer Dillaha, Director of the Arkansas Department of Health as well as interesting discussions of literature and movies. Registration can be found . Soon thereafter, we have the 바카라 사리트's Internal Medicine Meeting, which is being held in New Orleans from April 3rd through the 5th. I am excited to see many of our Arkansas 바카라 사리트 members, Fellows, and Masters at the meeting. We will be cheering on the residents from White River Health who won our state Doctor's Dilemma competition and will be representing our chapter in the national competition. On Thursday, April 4th, at 바카라 사리트 convocation, we will honor the 19 Internists in our state who advanced to Fellowship (F바카라 사리트) in the past year. And on Friday, April 5th, we will gather for our chapter reception at the New Orleans Aquarium. I encourage everyone to attend if you are in New Orleans for the meeting. Thank you for all you do to take care of the people in our state and uphold the ideals of our profession.

The Call for Nominations for the Governor's Advisory Council is now open. If you are interested in running, please email your Name, Short Bio (less than 200 words), and CV to Colleen Keeku no later than Wed, April 2nd.
If you would like to nominate a colleague, please email that person's name and contact information no later than Friday, March 28th.
The Governor's Council consists of physician volunteer leaders entrusted to represent and actively engage the membership of the Chapter. The Council sets policy and provides leadership, including planning strategically for the Chapter's growth; determining the mission, goals, and priorities; and allocating resources in line with those priorities. The Council meets in-person or online 2-3 times annually.

New 바카라 사리트 Paper Recommends Combination Therapy for Migraines
The new position paper published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, “Pharmacologic Treatments for Acute Episodic Migraine Headache in Outpatient Settings: A Clinical Guideline from the American College of Physicians”, discusses new recommendations for the treatment of acute episodic migraines in nonpregnant adults in outpatient settings. 바카라 사리트 evaluated pharmacologic treatments known to be effective for migraine treatment using the best available comparative effectiveness evidence of benefits and harms, patients' values and preferences, and economic evidence to prioritize the most effective treatments.
In the paper, the 바카라 사리트 makes two key recommendations. The first is that clinicians add triptan to a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to treat moderate to severe acute episodic migraines in nonpregnant adults who do not respond to a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The second is that clinicians add triptan to acetaminophen to treat moderate to severe acute episodic migraine headaches in nonpregnant adults who do not respond well to acetaminophen. 바카라 사리트 also suggests that clinicians think about counseling nonpregnant adults to start treatment for acute migraine headaches as soon as possible by using a triptan with an NSAID or triptan with acetaminophen.
